Visit

The Westminster Menswear Archive is open by advance appointment for research, teaching and professional use. 


Visits are free for University of Westminster students and for individual academic research appointments. Students from other universities are charged £10 per visit, which includes permission to take photographs for personal research.


Fees apply to external group teaching visits, commercial research, consultancy and projects requiring bespoke preparation or staff support.

Individual student visits

For University of Westminster students and students from other universities undertaking coursework, dissertations or independent study.


Students from other universities are charged £10 per visit, including permission to take photographs for personal research.

Academic and independent research

For academic staff, curators and independent researchers seeking non-commercial access to the collection. Any applicable charge will be confirmed before the appointment is arranged.

Teaching and group visits

For taught group sessions, external course visits and curriculum-linked teaching.


External teaching visits normally start from £250. A standard visit includes a themed object selection, an introduction to the Archive and a supervised research discussion. Fees vary according to group size, session length and the preparation required.

Industry and professional enquiries

For designers, brands, museums, galleries, media, publishers and other organisations seeking commercial research visits, consultancy, loans, reference hire, image licensing or other project support.

The Archive is open Tuesday to Friday, from 10am to 5pm, by advance appointment only.
